4 Key Questions to Ask at This Time

I think it’s always a good time to reflect back on where we have been in order to move forward with greater clarity, purpose and intention. But now is an especially good time to do so. We are almost at the halfway point of 2016 and we have just transitioned from Spring to Summer. Here is one simple and beautiful way you can mark this transition point and set forth with enthusiasm and confidence.

When I facilitated the Supercharge Your Goals and Dreams program at the start of this year, we did not launch right away into setting our goals/intentions and jump into making them happen. Instead, we took a more soulful approach. We first reviewed the previous year with the lens of appreciation and gratitude. We then did a ceremony to give thanks for all the beautiful blessings of the previous year, and from that space of celebration and thanksgiving, we began reflecting on our hopes and dreams for the coming year.

This exercise is inspired by that process. I would encourage you to take some time to journal on the questions below, express gratitude for the blessings you’ve experienced, and then move forward in planning for the coming months. You may want to look back on the past 6 months and plan for the remainder of the year. Or you may want to look back on Spring and plan for Summer…or some combination of the two.

I used my planner to do this exercise yesterday, and I was astonished at all that I had experienced and done in the recent past. It is often so easy to forget the progress we have made and how far we have come, so taking time for simple pauses such as this one help us to get centered/grounded in the truth of our experience instead of being guided by nagging concerns about all we have yet to do. So, please take the time to do this with an open heart and a relaxed mind.

Question 1: What are some of the highlights and milestones of the previous months?

Question 2: What blessings & opportunities from these months am I most grateful for?

Question 3: Who supported me and contributed to my success/joy in these months?

Question 4: What do I want to experience or accomplish in the coming months?

Answering these questions will help you connect to your heart. It will remind you of all that you have experienced and accomplished already, and from that space of appreciation, allow you to dream and vision exactly what you want to move towards. I found the exercise to be incredibly inspiring and heart-opening. I was surprised at the vast array of things I had already done and experienced that I hadn’t had at the forefront of my mind. And the list of what I am grateful for and who supported me helped remind me of what truly matters most.

I wish you great success in all your endeavors. Always remember that you are a beautiful child of the Great Spirit and you have immense powers to co-create the life your heart and soul are calling you towards. Heed their call and choose today to focus on what matters most to you, what makes your heart sing, and what has your spirit dancing with joy. Take the time to reflect and rejoice because your heart and soul long for it and because you deserve it. Love and blessings to you.
